Mint Green Tea
Mint green tea is very popular in Moroccan culture. I remember growing up the family would gather for tea in the afternoons. It was a nice “pick me up” treat. Most of the time Mint tea is the first thing that is served when having guests over at least in the Berber community. It is normally served sweet. Since the Mint green tea is naturally calorie-free, I find it better and healthier to avoid adding any sugar to tea. This way you can enjoy its flavor without adding unnecessary calories.
The mint adds a fantastic menthol flavor to green tea, making it soothing, calming, and refreshing. Mint green tea also has health benefits which are a great bonus.
Ingredients:
A handful of fresh mint
One tablespoon of green tea
Two cups of water
Directions:
Rinse the mint bunches or leaves and let drain.
Bring the water to boil.
Add the green tea and mint to your teapot.
Add the boiling water.
Let steep for a few minutes to give the mint and the green tea the chance to release its flavor.
Best served hot. Enjoy!
